Thanksgiving Parade!

11/29/2021 

Thanksgiving week was great!! There were lots of people on Thanksgiving talking about the parade and watching it. We called some friends that morning telling them Happy Thanksgiving!! And almost all of them were watching the parade! That was like the first thing they would talk about with us. haha 

Anyways we got fed really good on Thanksgiving! We ended up going to two members houses on Thanksgiving. The first one was interesting we got there and they were still finishing cooking up the food. We saw this bowl full of live crabs, they cooked them up and that's pretty much what we had! So at the dinner table we had to pull apart the crab to get into the inside of it to eat it. It was for sure interesting but really good, I liked it! We shared a message with them, then we went to the other members family and they just kept bringing out plates non stop. So much food!! We ate until we could not eat anything else. One of the elders we were with ended up throwing up when we left the house, we were all pretty sick that night haha. We got a call from another family inviting us over that night we ended up telling them we couldn't make it. There was no way! It was a good Thanksgiving!!!

Manhattan

11/22/2021 

Another week in New York!! This week has been a blast we were able to go into Manhattan for interviews with the mission president! We used the subway to get to Manhattan it was kinda wild, such an interesting experience. Then after interviews we were able to go get some food and spend some time in the city! We had cafe metro it was really good food!! The city was overall just such a fun time being there. 

Nothing really new has changed this week, we are still teaching all our friends and everything is going good with that!! We found 6 new friends to teach this week though so that has been good just staying super busy!! Sorry that this email is a little shorter, but I am loving being a missionary I know that this church is true and the Book of Mormon is true! Love you all!

Baptism!

11/15/2021

Wow wow this was such an incredible week!! We helped some people move this week for service. It's really wild moving in apartments they are just so tight and small to move furniture! But it was great just lots of heavy lifting haha they gave us a good meal after which was amazing! 

This week we had an amazing baptism!!! Evelyn & Keidy! These Sisters have been through so much! It's amazing to see how the Gospel truly changes lives and brings lasting joy!! It was an incredible experience they were so ready for this gospel in there lives, I am super excited for them. At the baptism my companion wanted to do a musical together, but I am like not good at all with any instruments. He played the guitar and I played the piano, to some of you it might not seem hard to learn or play the piano but it is super hard for me to learn. But I actually learned how to play I am a Child of God in like 3 days!! My companion played the first verse with the guitar and then the second verse it was piano and guitar all together, all I gotta say is that it was alright haha but definitely a miracle this week!!

Also one of our good friends Vanessa finally came to church!! She has really been locked in her house for the last 2 years and hasn't came out because of covid, and she has some really bad social anxiety. She finally faced her fears and came to church so that was amazing!! But it doesn't end there she stayed for the whole time at church then stayed for the baptism after church and loved it!! She loved everything about that day and even said she wants to get baptized! And she also told us that she shared with some of her friends her experience and invited them to come! It is very awesome, she is the best!!!

Miracles!

11/8/2021

This week was amazing! Had some super cool miracles this week. We were knocking one night and it was dark so we were going to head back but then decided to go knock a couple more, the next house we went to was amazing!! We talked for about 20 minutes and they told us that we were an answer to their prayers. So cool I love seeing Gods hands in our lives. Also at church one of our friends came and he loved it and was so excited and is now going to bring back his whole family!! So excited! 

We did service this week, helped some members paint their walls in the house. It was a great time but... we ended up cleaning and scrubbing the floor too since their dog stepped in the paint hahaha so funny I couldn't stop laughing but I felt so bad, we got it all cleaned up so we're good! Also I learned how to make like the best food this week! Dumplings!! They are so good and I will probably be making them a lot! This week was great, hope all is going well for everyone!

Another week has gone by in New York City! It has been going great we have been doing lots of service. One day we did 4 hours of yard service, and have been just walking around helping others out and sharing messages on the streets, it has been good. 

Halloween was awesome out in Long Island! We painted pumpkins and we were able to have dinner with some members here. It was an amazing dinner, so good!! This family is the best! And they actually wanted us to open the door for the trick or treaters during the dinner at their house and that was a good time people were lots nicer when I am on this side of the door lol

-I love that so much because when we have faith and trust in God and have Him on our side He can help us with anything that life throws at us.
