Car.... 🚗

10/18/2021

Wow!! This week was a long one. We started it off super great by....... getting in a car accident :( my very first car accident at least it wasn't me driving it was my companion haha but crashes here are a lot more common. It was kinda crazy how it happened, we were in some busy traffic and some people get very impatient so they go down like the shoulder of the road by the barrier which isn't a lane. But this car didn't have enough room to get past us so they side swiped us. It wasn't that bad but still kinda crazy!!

We have been trying to find new ways to find some friends to teach. So we went sightseeing at parks and the beach/boat docks. It's been good we have been able to see some super cool sunsets and it's also nice since people are relaxing on a bench or fishing and have no where to go. So there has been some success with that and we got a couple phone numbers!!

Another cool experience this week. I had a lesson with some Korean friends, it was more difficult but super cool to have a translator there to help out. And I was also able to help some Korean elders help Korean people learn how to speak English, that was really hard and difficult. I found out that I am still learning English lol But this week has been really good!

Pictures for the week!

Yankees ⚾️

10/11/2021

The New York Yankees baseball team lost this week so they are done playing for the year and lots of people are very sad about that. Everyone loves the Yankees here. And one of my favorite teams is the Red Sox, I learned this week to not tell anyone that, especially since the Red Sox bet the Yankees and took the Yankees out for the season! They will get mad at you for liking the Red Sox. So honestly I might need to change my team, the Yankees is growing on me a little bit haha.

Funny story! This week my companion and I ran out of money super fast, don't worry Mom we have enough food to last the week. But we were making cookies for some members and friends, and we noticed we had no butter :( so we went through the car, our drawers and the entire apartment for change! We finally found some and got a box and made a box of change!! We walked to the store with this box of change and bought this butter made it look like we were poor and we are actually poor. Oh my soooooo embarrassing but so funny!

This week we were able to play some sports with the young men's! We played some hockey hahaha welp... I am not good at hockey at all. But it was super fun!! We also had a great time going to see the big globe! It has been a fun pday, with going to that and playing sports!!

2 Nephi 32:3
"Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do."

- I love this scripture! It brings me at peace that I know that the words of Christ will tell us all we should do and know! The Book of Mormon has the answers of life in it! I know that to be true!!

General Conference!!

10/4/2021

This week went by super fast! Elder Lund and I got some boards and have been riding them in the morning. There is this trail we ride on like right next to the ocean so that has been a blast!! We have been doing lots of finding this week and have gotten some numbers and new friends to teach so that is super exciting!

We had two exchanges this week!! It's been nice being able to see more places in New York! The second exchange this week I was with another Elder that came into the field the same day that I did. It was really interesting, both of us were new and had some lessons that day but for the most part I think it went good! And during this exchange I had to drive a car! It was a wild experience, but now I can say I have drivin a car in New York!! We both are still in one piece haha

General Conference was so good!! My companion was saying that it's the super bowl for missionaries and that is so true! I have loved watching conference this week. Every message that was shared I needed to hear. I am going to keep going back and listening to those talks, I want to invite all of you to do the same! I wanna share my testimony with you all that I know this church is true, and the Book of Mormon is very true! The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It will bring so much peace and comfort to everyone that reads it. I have loved being on a mission even during the hard times. I have gained so much knowledge already and it's absolutely incredible. I love the gospel so much!! I know God is our loving Heavenly Father, He knows each and every single one of us. He loves all of us! Not one of us is a stranger to God! This brings me so much happiness and peace. I know that Jesus Christ is the light and life of the world! He knows what we are all going through in life but if we have faith and have Christ in the center of our life we will be able to see light and happiness even in our darkest and hard times!! I know for all these things to be true with all my heart! General Conference week was awesome! Everything is going good in New York. Love you all!!
